Patient Testimonials

"Dr. Barborka and his team are fantastic. Dr. Barborka is not only a great dentist but he is very active in supporting his community and church. Becky, my hygienist, was very nice and made me feel safe and calm. The front desk girl was really warm and welcoming. I would highly recommend Peak Dental to anyone. I can’t imagine a better dental experience. This is exactly the type of business I want to support. Thank you for always providing amazing service with a warm smile and a gentle touch."

B Carter.

"I have appreciated Dr. Barborca’s technique and the caring manner that he and his staff have for every patient there. I joined his practice when he began working in Winchester, and have had two crowns placed during that time. Compared to prior crown work, his technique was very painless, and I’m not sure my brain realized I had a different tooth crown. No interruption to my schedule or eating, and no pain highly recommend."

How often should you visit a dentist for a check-up?

The frequency of dental check-ups may vary depending on individual needs and oral health conditions. Regular check-ups every six months allow dentists to monitor your oral health, perform professional cleanings, and address any emerging issues promptly. What to expect on your first visit to a dentist?

On your first visit to a dentist, you can expect a comprehensive examination to assess your oral health. The dentist will review your medical history, conduct your teeth's visual examination & gums, and may take X-rays or perform other diagnostic tests. They will check for cavities, gum disease, oral cancer, and any other potential issues. This initial visit also allows you to discuss any concerns or ask questions about your oral health with the dentist.

What are some signs & symptoms of an oral problem?

- Toothaches

- Sensitivity to hot or cold temperatures

- Gum swelling or bleeding

A healthy diet is crucial to maintain good oral health. Some healthy foods that promote oral health include:

- Fresh fruits and vegetables

- Drinking plenty of water

These foods provide essential nutrients like calcium, vitamin C, and fiber, which help maintain strong teeth and gums. Avoiding sugary and acidic foods and beverages is also important to prevent tooth decay and enamel erosion.

How to care for your teeth after a dental check-up?

After a dental check-up, it is essential to continue proper oral care at home. This includes:

- Brushing your teeth at least twice a day with fluoride toothpaste.

- Flossing daily to remove plaque between teeth.

- Using an antimicrobial mouthwash as recommended by your dentist.

- Maintaining a balanced diet and avoiding tobacco products also contribute to good oral hygiene.

- Regularly following these practices will help maintain the results of your dental check-up and promote optimal oral health.

What are the benefits of getting regular dental check-ups?

Regular dental check-ups offer several benefits like:

- They allow dentists to detect and treat oral health issues early, preventing the need for more extensive and costly treatments later on.

- Dental check-ups help maintain good oral hygiene and reduce the risk of tooth decay, gum disease, and other oral problems.

- Additionally, dental visits contribute to overall health, as they can detect early signs of systemic diseases such as diabetes and oral cancer.

Visit our dental clinic in Tampa, FL, to ensure you receive these benefits and maintain a healthy smile.

How can you improve your oral hygiene?

Improving oral hygiene involves adopting and maintaining good oral care practices. This includes:

- Brushing your teeth at least twice a day for two minutes each time using fluoride toothpaste.

- Use a soft-bristled toothbrush and brush gently in a circular motion to clean all surfaces of your teeth and along the gumline.

- Daily flossing your teeth is important to remove plaque and food particles from between teeth.

- Additionally, consider using an antimicrobial mouthwash to kill bacteria and freshen your breath.

- It is also crucial to maintain a healthy diet, limit sugary snacks and beverages, and avoid tobacco products.

- Regular dental check-ups and teeth cleanings play a vital role in improving and maintaining oral hygiene.

So be sure to visit our dentist in Tampa, FL, regularly.
